It is cold out now. I go through periods of Spring and Fall cleaning. School is starting back up and so I want to get things ready for the hammering of snow. We are new to the East. We are used to rock gardens, zeroscaping, and not watering our lawn. Now, we have tools to use- snowblowers, shovels, salt, and chains. It is a new world!
So, I have this idea. I want to go from one end of the house to the other and steam clean the carpet. It isn’t really dirty yet. It is going to get dirty in the winter. But, just before we freeze our tushes off, I think we need to do this. I want to wash all the curtains and seal up all the windows. The cats have this great hallway which is wall-to-wall windows. It needs some sealing.
I will soon need to close all the windows in the front porch. That room is usually off limits in the winter months because no one wants to be on a sun porch when they run the risk of freezing to death. But, it is a great place for snow shoes and dirty clothing (we keep sweats out there just in case we need to strip).
The cats hate going out in the winter. They only want to stay in during the snow months. This means- more fighting, more litter box cleaning, and generally, a more crowded house. But it feels good to have two or three cats curled on the bed at night. I am fine with that as long as they don’t get too pissed when I roll over and squish one.
Tim hates the winter. He gets very blue when it is cold out. Tim likes places where you can wear shorts and birkenstocks every day. He isnt a fan of living here but he is being really good about it.
I end this post with a little description of the photos. These are Maui’s new kittens. They are very cute. There are two skinny black ones (one of which is very outgoing). There are three white and black kittens (one of which is obese and very cute, another is very scared and shakes when you hold him). Maui just had a litter two months or so ago. As soon as they were weaned, I brought Maui in to get her fixed (we assumed previously that all cats come fixed- they don’t). So, Maui went in to get fixed and she was already pregnant with these guys. Since we went to a Christian vet who doesn’t believe in kitty abortion, we got stuck. Maui is trapped inside right now and she WILL get fixed this week.
Anyone want a kitten?

If Deuce wasn’t such a psycho kitty, I’d gladly take one off your hands.

Too cute! No more cats for me though or I’ll end up with that ‘cat lady’ mystique and never get any ;0)

Are you serious? Your vet didn’t believe in kitty abortion? Wow! That’s a new one. That’s taking it to a whole new level. Well, they are darling little kitties. I hope you find some good homes for them.

The kitties are cute, but two is plenty for us!
So you moved to WordPress. I like the look. I’ve noticed two recently jumping the Blogspot Ship. May I ask why?

Cute kitties, but don’t want one. I like dogs, well….actually, I don’t like all dogs, I like MY dog.
We took a 2 yr. hiatus from Fla, moved up north and HATED it. HATE isn’t even a strong enough word. I was depressed and craved the sunlight. I’ll be thinking about you all this winter.

Yeah, actually we have talked about getting a new kitty for Lina as part of her big girl, growing up thing. We wanted to wait until it is winter and too cold to go out here. Better chance of kitty sticking around and not wondering off. We are also going on vacation in less than a month and didn’t want to get kitty before that, so although they are adorable, we’ll have to pass for now.
